Low reactivity crucible for casting Titanium and Stainless Steel

Oddly enough even though this crucible has a very low reactivity it is very low cost. It is only recommended for use with Ti and Stainless Steel. The main reason you do not want to use this with Pt and Pd alloys is because it readily absorbs the heat from the metal and will cause it to freeze before it enters your flask. Chemically pure Ti and stainless steel have a longer melting range so this crucible works for those metals. When casting Ti, you may get one or two cast per crucible only. With stainless steel, you can get many castings per crucible. Price your castings accordingly. Never cross contaminate your crucibles with another metal. Once you cast Ti in one of these crucibles, stay with Ti. Once you cast stainless, stay with stainless.
